They are experiencing rough seas and high winds unfortuantely for them. Thursday, October 6th: Greg left for Italy today (from Syndy, he arrived 2 weeks earlier from Fiji) so now the boat is back to the original crew. He landed an opportunity to teach English near Venice. Good luck to the crew and Greg! Tuesday, August 23rd 1 PM PDT: I talked a bit with Chris and Greg today. They are in Fiji. They are going to check out one of the local islands today, but they'll be in Fiji for another two months. Peter's Dad has joined them on the boat. They should be in Australia by the end of November/beginning of December. Bonnie will be joining them for vacation on the 2nd week of September. They have a local phone again email the address above if you'd like the number. They were actually off and sailing a couple days ago, but I didn't have any time for website updates until tonight. Then Chris' friend (Chris) called me tonight and gave me a "what the hey?", so I was prompted enough to stay up late and get this updated! Aloha, Chris! Give me the weekend and I'll get the pictures up too... Also, by the way, Andrew flew back home so just Chris, Greg and their friends Peter and Nichole are out there. Saturday, June 11th: - 4:15: Location: 8.6667 South, 139.5000 WestChris called saying they were going slower than expected and weren't going to hit land on Saturday (about 30 miles off shore). me a voicemail: "We ran out of f***in' diesel and we're going f***in'
slow right now with no wind but we expect to hit land tomorrow".
Thanks for all the banner clicks... got 40 this weekend. Also, I put a few highlights of our vacation up... Thursday, June 2nd: Wind still going, they are going south... headwind sucks. Wednesday, June 1st: We heard from Chris early in the afternoon saying he was getting some funky currents going on. I couldn't see anything fishy on the weather forcasts except that they are nearing the Doldrums so that is probably why. The wind forcasted to blow towards the North-West and the current showed flowing West.... but he was experiencing something differnt (Currents flowing north.) I didn't get any coordinates. They are on Andrew's voicemail. Tuesday, May 31st - 5:00 PM: Those guys are hauling butt. Monday, May 30th- 5:00 PM: WOW! 321 miles in 2
days! I guess the forecast was right about the 15 knot winds. That's
a record for this trip. Friday, May 27 - 5:00 PM: They got in another 100+ Mile Day as the winds have picked up! Yeah! And by the looks of the 24 hour forecast, they'll be in 15 knot winds by 4am Saturday (PDT). Thursday, May 26 - 5:00 PM: Location: 16N 20' 122N 41' Wednesday, May 25 - 5:00 PM: They are going to stop motoring which means that they are going to slow down due to the lack of wind. They are conserving gas for the Doldrums. Tuesday, May 24 - 5:00 PM: Location 18N 30min, 120W 40 min. Monday, May 23 - 5:00 PM: Still no wind. Sunday, May 22 - 5:00 PM: Location: 21N 0min 0sec, 120W 0min 0 sec. They were motoring yesterday as there hasn't been any wind. Friday, May 20 - 5:00 PM: Thank you for a Blog Post by "The Mommy": "One of the large sails ripped and they replaced it with a smaller one they brought along. That'll slow them down a little. Coordinates at 5pm PDT, 5/20/05: 24 N 10min; 120 W 30min" Monday, May 16 - Afternoon: Receive a report that they are moving at a good pace around 6 knots and are about 180 miles south west of here. Sunday, May 15 - 7:30 PM: Chris, Peter, and Nicole set sail from Newport Beach, CA. -Kelly Fujikawa To be notified of updates, please email: (The Email is marked up to prevent email collection programs from being able to read the address.
